“I miss the support. The support was different. When you walked into Voices you were home. Home away from home. It was a different atmosphere from other organizations. Like your own bedroom.”

“I remember one woman, she had just come out of the hospital. No one in her family knew, not even her daughter. She called Voices and said ‘I have no groceries.’ And I said ‘What do we do?’ I said this is not a service we provide, but this woman needs food, and so we went to her home and took her food. She was out in Scarborough. And that woman never forgets.  Her devotion to Voices was 100%. A lot of women really feel that Voices saved their lives.”
