    “I went initially as a service user ’97, and then quickly became a volunteer, board member and then was staff for four years. That was the essence of it: run by positive women for positive women. That is just not anywhere now. There was some power in the presence of women being so open about their status. Just doing the work.  From funding proposals to meetings to newsletters. We ran as a collective for a very long time. And then the structure changed, but even when there was a hierarchy it didn’t feel like a hierarchy.  Voices continued to adapt. I had a lot of learning to do. We adapted, educated ourselves and went with it.
